Another site!
I just discovered another temple update blog. Go to brighamcityldstemple.blogspot.com. He (Brian Rex) has some arial pictures that are really cool. It's fun to compare the tabernacle footprint and the temple footprint as well as the placements on their lots from the air! His blog looks so good that I might just turn it all over to him. Anyway, I forgot to get a picture last weekend, so I'll post one next week.

Work on the North side...
It looks like the NE corner of the temple has caught up with the others.
The picture below was taken from the SW corner.
There's the tabernacle (below) still patiently keeping watch!
Below is the action taking place on the N side of the building.
Lots going on there! The construction fence has been bumped out
one lane into 200 S so there's only one eastbound lane.

4th Corner Going In!
The picture below was taken from the construction entrance,
looking east. It's the NE corner or the temple.
Below is a picture of the last corner of the temple going in.
Below is a shot looking to the NW. Lots of rebar!
The picture below was taken from the SW Tabernacle lawn.
Yesterday tied a record for the highest temperature for the date (58).
It felt like spring and I'll bet the construction guys loved it!

A step closer...
We've had pretty cold temps this week, but no snow. Can't you see the progress?
I took the 3 shots below from the construction entrance on the NW corner of the site.
I took the three below from Farmers Corner across the street to the South.
Looking North...
Someone in church today mentioned that they think it's appropriate
the temple sits on the spot where his school sat. It was a step-by-step
place of learning what he would need to know in future years.
And the temple is the same...Nice thought.
BTW, if you're from Brigham, you might be interested to know that
Lincoln School is now only a pile of rubble and lots of memories.
It's kind of sad for all the Lincoln Lions out there.

Progress...and I just beat the snow!
I parked in the construction entrance at the NW corner of the lot
and took this picture looking towards the SE.
Same vantage point except a little more to the N.
See the tabernacle?
The picture below was taken from my usual vantage point
directly South of the Temple looking north. They're either building a
huge dog run, or else parking's going in. Lot and lots of rebar.
See...it does look like a dog run, doesn't it?
I took this picture while standing on the steps of the tabernacle.
I just had to take a picture of the tabernacle. It whispered to me
that it's standing watch, in eager anticipation, over the temple.
I'm standing just East and South of the temple. You can clearly see
each of three corners. I wonder when the last corner's going in?
One of my frends in the ward is concerned that the temple is sitting too
close to Main Street and wonders if she should contact someone to
tell them they got it wrong (that silly Janet!).
If you're not checking the Box Elder News Journal weekly for "arial" pictures
(taken from Smiths roof), you really ought to. It gives such a great
overall picture of what's going on.

Where did the time go?
It's been awhile since I posted. Lots of progress is being made! Since the last post all the snow has melted (except for a few dirty clumps here and there). Can spring be far behind? I'm just dreaming I guess. The announcement was made last Sunday that the Ogden Temple will close the first week of April for the remodel to begin there. According to a sister from our ward who works there, it sounds like it could take more time to remodel than to build a temple from scratch. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I started taking my pictures while standing on the sidewalk to the east
of the temple looking to the southwest (above).
You can see the SW corner (tallest structure), the NW corner to its
right, and the SE corner (orange) being filled with cement.

I'm standing in the middle of the block to the south of the temple
looking north. You can see all three corners of the temple.
Check out all the rebar to the south of the temple. Any guesses?
Looking to the NE. You can see the tabernacle on the right edge of the picture.
I took this from the SW corner of the temple lot.

Baby Steps...
I'm sorry the pictures are so dark, but it's a gloomy day. Rumor has it that the tall chimney looking thing is one of the corners. It'll be interesting to see what it actually is.
Aren't you glad you're not one of the fellows clinging to it today!
