Can you say s...l...o...w?

It's been a week since I looked at things at the temple site. I can see that a lot more dirt has been moved, but they sure seem to be going slowly. The new Davis & Bott building (where the old fire station used to be on Forest Street) started after the temple and is pouring footings. Of course it's not nearly as large a project, but really!...

Lorren thinks the olympic pool in the above picture is really going to be the baptismal font
as they're always put below ground level to symbolize burial then resurrection.

Looks like progress...

Really and truly...it all looks so much better than it appears in the pictures. In looking at these pictures next to last weeks pictures, it looks like there hasn't been a lot of progress, but it appears to me like a LOT more dirt has left the lot.

Hmmm...any speculation about the olympic sized swimming pool in the picture?

A bucket at a time...

It's been about a week since I last posted and more dirt has been moved...actually *more* than a bucket! I need to take some pictures at a different time of day so the contrast on the excavation shows up better. Where it looks kind of flat in these pictures is in truth quite a bit deeper. I think I read where there will be below ground parking, so I'd image they'll have to take out a whole bunch more.

Below is a picture taken from the west looking east towards the tabernacle.
It looks much more impressive with the naked eye.

Labor Day weekend

The trucks full of dirt keep filling and leaving the site. Things seem to be going slowly, but I think it's just because I want it to be finished by this Christmas!
