Balmy day in Brigham

Sorry about the dark pictures...it's a pretty gloomy day.  We had a little blizzard last night, and although we didn't get more than 3 or 4 inches of snow, the wind howled and the temperatures plummeted.  The sun is peeking out of the high clouds as I write, but it sure wasn't when I took these pictures a few minutes ago.

The reason for the plastic covering above is because the cement was poured only yesterday.

Hmmmm...the Christmas stockings are still on the crane.  I wonder if Santa missed them?

This is a north/south running footing on the east side.
If you look at this site, will you give me a shout-out?  I wonder if anyone's even interested.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here's a lighted holiday message from the crew at the temple site.  I hope Santa notices the stockings hung by the crane with care when he makes his rounds.  MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here's a message from the crew at the temple site...MERRY CHIRSTMAS!

Wow, isn't this really starting to look like progress?  You can actually see something above the fenceline when you drive by!  Happiest of Christmases to you and yours!

What a beautimus day!

It looks like things are progressing nicely. There's been speculation that the "towers"
are probably the elevator/utility shafts.
The best news is that the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and there's NO snow!

WOW!...It's beginning to look a lot like...construction!

I haven't seen what's going on at the temple site for two weeks,
and it looks like things are moving right along! The first two pictures were taken from second south looking south.  The others are taken from the south looking north.  Remember you can click on the picture to get a close-up.  Enjoy!

I couldn't resist...

It's been snowing all day and I was too chicken to drive up to the temple site to take pictures.  Maybe tomorrow.  In the meantime, enjoy the video...it's awesome!

Awesome!

Lookin' Good!

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I guess four pictures are worth four thousand words! Here're your four thousands worth for the week! A big blizzard is moving in tomorrow...it'll be interesting to see how things progress in winterlike conditions. Happy Thanksgiving...don't forget to give thanks for the blessing of a temple in Brigham City!

step by step...

It looks like things are progressing nicely. I hope they can work through the winter because it seems like winter is on our doorsteps here in BC (check out the new snow on the mountains)!

Finally!...

I heard a rumor that the reason there seemed to be a stand-still at the temple site was because some things had to be "rethought." True or not, it doesn't matter because things have started to move right along. I hope the weather cooperates. Just check out the snow on the mountains. We got quite a bit of water yesterday. So, here are the pictures. The last one is for dessert (it kind of looks like something from the Ten Commandments doesn't it?)!

Movin' along!

It's interesting to me how work on the temple site can really look like "stuff" is happening, and to the naked eye, it kind of looks the same from week to week. I hadn't seen the site in a week, and today I had an audible "ohhhhh" when I saw it. Things are definately marching on!

Brrrr...they'd better hurry!

Here are the pictures I took this morning. Notice the snow on the mountains...we had TONS of rain all night long in the valley! Lorren stopped on 200 South (there were no cars behind us...I promise) for me to take some pictures from a different perspective (first two pictures). One of the construction workers "mamed" me and chided us for stopping in the road. He said they've created observation openings on the east side (enlarge the last picture and you can kind of see it on the southeast corner of the temple lot). The only problem is finding parking and walking a block to get to them. We went around to the south side to take more pictures from that view. Thankfully he couldn't "catch" me again. It really looks like progress is being made. In looking at the one dimensional pictures, it doesn't look like it, but in real life, things are rolling right along.  Oh, and the News Journal reported that some cement had been poured last week.
